I installed windows 7 on it about a year ago, and hadn't had any problems with it until a couple weeks ago, when windows failed to start. This is a good site and the support offered here is appraciated.I have an Acer Aspire that's a few years old. Couold it be my HP PC with Windows 7 recognizes a command other than Get-packages? I am typing dism /image:c:\/get-packages. and it tells me the command line is missing a required servicing command. When I select option 3, I receive Error:1639.

That makes me think my user id has admin rights on my pc. I am logged in as myself and the command prompt screen, at the very top, states Administrator. When I select option 2, I receive Error: 2, and it asks me to ensure I have read persmissions on the folder.

Should it have been happening automatically or do I need to make my PC, before the problems occur, create restore points? I have had problems before and my machine had multiple restore points available from which I chose one. When I select option 1, Revover the last restore point, it tells me it cannot find a last restore point. I al always grateful for the support on this webpage. I was also able to run soem sort of HP diagnostic program from startup that yielded the following results:įailed run in test with the following codesįailed short dst with the same codes as above. The only information I can optain is from the HP system Recovery. I have also attempted to boot from last known good setup and that does not work. I have attempted safe mode with and without networking, and with command prompt. Windows will not boot in standard mode or in safe mode. I think my PC downloaded updates as I was sleeping yesterday and I awoke to the HP recovery manager.
